Both antivirus services come with a range of features. Both antivirus solutions offer latest malware protection, PC tuning, webcam and password management. They also provide additional features such as VPNs, file shredders and anti-tracker tools.
In the AV-Comparatives’ September 2019 performance test, both Bitdefender and Kaspersky have excellent system utilization rates. Both used less of the computer’s specifications than Windows Defender and didn’t cause any noticeable slowdowns. It’s crucial to note that if an antivirus software has a bad impact on the speed of a computer it’s not doing its job effectively.
Despite being the same price, Kaspersky has a few distinct and useful features than Bitdefender. Its Timeline feature is very useful, as it allows you to view all the activities that Kaspersky has conducted on your computer in chronological order. Its Notification Center can be very useful in resolving security issues quickly without needing to leave the screen.
Another area in which Kaspersky has an edge is its firewall protection. Its advanced system control uses whitelisting of applications to block unauthorized access. It also includes more features than Bitdefender’s standard protection suite. It also comes with a convenient rescue environment that allows you to boot into a fresh version of Windows 10 to remove malware that is deeply embedded.
Both programs provide decent support options. Kaspersky offers remote assistance as well as email, chat and phone support. Bitdefender provides all three. Both have dedicated knowledge bases, which are a great source of information for addressing common questions.
